About the Role:
Looking for a Director of Development, Wind to lead the development of utility-scale wind and repower projects across the U.S. This role offers significant growth potential, managing current projects in our pipeline and originating new ones to expand our impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end wind project development, including greenfield and repowering projects across various U.S. regions
- Oversee project milestones, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects meet company and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, engineering, construction) to support all phases of development
- Negotiate land agreements and manage stakeholder relationships, including landowners, community leaders, and regulatory bodies
- Monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory changes to optimize project siting and strategy
- Oversee permitting, and environmental review processes, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on market positioning, new development opportunities, and risk management
- Manage and mentor development teams, supporting their growth and effectiveness within the organization
Requirements
- Proven experience in utility-scale wind development or repowering projects
- Familiarity with interconnection procedures and renewable project financing
- Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineering, environmental, and regulatory experts
- Financial and strategic business insight, with experience presenting at an executive level
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, wholesale markets, interconnection, and tax incentives
