We are seeking a Director of Transmission and Interconnection to support transmission and interconnection for an IPP. The preferred candidate has 8+ years of transmission and interconnection experience, specifically within renewable energy. This position will support project development, asset management, and re-powering efforts of wind, solar, and storage.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance to our development and engineering teams.
- Lead the interconnection process from submission of interconnection request to final commissioning.
- Direct the development of electrical designs for collection system, project substations and generation ties.
- Direct interconnection, system impact, facilities, and resolve technical and schedule issues.
- Manage congestion analysis for our development projects in CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO.
- Lead the procurement of consultants to deliver additional studies as needed.
- Support project financing by responding to financial parties during due diligence.
- Forecast, manage, and communicate transmission-related financial commitments.
- Oversee the generator interconnection process schedule.
- Oversee Engineering and Procurement agreements with utilities and ISO/RTOs.
- Participate in technical leadership committees.
Qualifications
- An electrical engineering degree or related field
- 5+ years in transmission for renewable energy
- Wind, Solar, Storage.
- Existing relationships with ISOs/RTOs
- Experience negotiating with counterparties.
- Ability to travel 25%
