Job Title: Vice President of Development – Solar & Solar+Storage Projects

Company Overview:

A private equity-backed renewable energy developer with over 17 GW of solar and solar+storage projects across the U.S. seeks a Vice President of Development. The company operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions nationwide.

Position Overview:

The Vice President of Development will lead the full lifecycle of utility-scale solar and solar+storage projects from site identification to Notice to Proceed (NTP). This senior role requires deep expertise in renewable energy development, leadership skills, and a strategic approach to advancing the company’s ambitious growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute strategies to advance a diverse portfolio of utility-scale solar and storage projects.
• Oversee all project development stages, including permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder management.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and KPIs to ensure successful delivery.
• Build and mentor a high-performing development team.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in utility-scale solar and solar+storage development.
• Proven success in managing large project pipelines to completion.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Expertise in U.S. renewable energy markets and regulatory processes.
