The Transmission Line Engineer role at Commonwealth involves performing engineering functions under general supervision. The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. It emphasizes continuous learning and development of technical expertise through practical application. This role also includes entry-level involvement in change management/ improvement initiatives, task management and client-facing interactions.

Responsibilities:

Engineering Deliverables:

  • Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering and deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies with limited supervision.
  • Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Assistance with the development of internal standards.
  • Quality checks of other engineers’ projects.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Direct coordination with clients and stakeholders.
  • Independently attend internal and external client meetings, conference calls, and client site visits.
  • Collaborate with teams, project managers and supervisor on project status and complete timesheets and reports.
  • Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree – Electrical or Civil Engineering

    Professional Credentials/ Software:

    • Engineer in Training (EIT)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2-year basic engineering duties as entry level engineer at an Engineering consulting firm
