About the Company – Samuel Knight Energy, the global leader in renewable energy recruitment services, is seeking a Senior PV Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading EPC firm specializing in utility-scale solar construction.
About the Role – This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, with reimbursable travel to project sites and office locations as needed. The Senior PV Electrical Engineer will oversee external engineering resources, maintain electrical design standards, ensure project compliance with regulatory and owner requirements, and serve as a subject matter expert for PV Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Review project requirements for cost, schedule, and constructability implications.
- Prepare and review Scope of Work (SoW) documents for PV Electrical Engineering.
- Issue and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to third-party engineering consultants.
- Provide technical guidance and manage third-party consultants to meet project standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, finance, contracting, and construction teams.
- Review engineering deliverables, including electrical calculations, system designs, and safety compliance.
- Support permitting applications and optimize electrical designs for efficiency.
- Respond to RFIs and review equipment submittals.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD and PV design software.
Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of PV Electrical Engineering experience.
- 2+ years in Engineering Management.
- Utility-scale solar industry experience.
- Knowledge of AC/DC electrical principles, the National Electric Code, and medium voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PVcase, WinIGS, and ETAP design software.
- Knowledge of arc flash and grounding analysis.
- Professional Engineering license.
Pay range and compensation package – Up to $120,000 + Bonus
