Project Manager – Solar Energy (Utility-Scale)
Position Overview:
Join a leading utility-scale solar developer managing projects exceeding 500 MW in pre-construction and over 1,000 MW currently under development across multiple states in the USA. As a remote Project Manager, you’ll oversee the execution of large-scale solar projects, ensuring successful delivery across design, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. This role offers flexibility and a competitive salary of up to $130,000, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of utility-scale solar projects, from planning through commissioning, ensuring milestones are met on schedule and within budget.

Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main liaison among internal teams, external contractors, suppliers, and permitting authorities.

Scheduling and Budgets: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (using tools like CPM) and budgets, with a focus on cost control and risk mitigation.

Permitting and Compliance: Navigate federal, state, and local permitting processes, ensuring compliance with environmental and utility regulations.

Procurement and Contract Management: Oversee procurement of key components (modules, inverters, etc.), negotiating supplier contracts and managing vendor relationships.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, finance, and construction teams to align goals and deliverables across all phases.

Reporting: Provide project updates, risk assessments, and financial progress reports to stakeholders, leadership, and investors.

Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to all safety standards and oversee quality control measures during construction and commissioning.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing utility-scale solar projects, with a strong track record of delivering multi-state projects.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in utility-scale PV system design, interconnection requirements, and construction management.

Project Management Tools: Expertise in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost management tools.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with permitting processes, utility compliance, and renewable energy incentives (e.g., ITC, PPA agreements).

Certifications: PMP certification is a plus; knowledge of NEC and OSHA regulations is essential.
