About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Developer focused on energy storage development across the PJM and Southern US regions. This role is responsible for driving projects from concept to completion, and managing all stages of development to expand our renewable footprint. Ideal candidates bring a strong understanding of the PJM market and Southern energy landscape, with proven expertise in energy storage development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of energy storage projects in PJM and the Southern US, from site identification through permitting, financing, and construction readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with landowners, permitting agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments, ensuring efficient progression through each development stage.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess site suitability for energy storage projects.
- Handle interconnection applications, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance for each project.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes within PJM and the Southern US to inform project strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in renewable energy development, preferably energy storage experience but not essential
- Familiarity with interconnection processes and permitting requirements.
- Strong project management skills, including budget oversight, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
- Proven ability to navigate regulatory frameworks and build relationships with key external parties.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
