Manager/Sr. Manager Marketing Analytics

Peregrine Energy Solutions LLC is seeking a highly skilled quantitative Market Analytics professional who possesses expertise in power market dynamics and fundamentals to support the Origination, Development, and Finance teams. This is a full-time position and can be fully remote.

Essential Responsibilities:

Fundamental Market Analysis, Commodity Structuring & Risk Analysis:

1. Directly running and/or building power market forecasting tools used to build revenue expectations for project development with a deep understanding and application of market structures.
2. Quantitative market analysis and risk analysis focused on product pricing, contractual requirement analysis, risk & exposure.
3. Programmatic data science expertise; coding and data manipulation and curation from source all the way through to rendering final conclusions for commercial decisions.
4. Evaluating market wholesale and retail rules to help develop fit-for-purpose products and solutions to address identified customer needs.
5. Following and researching impacts from regulatory changes within multiple markets, both regulated and unregulated.
6. Support the pricing analysis and execution of highly structured transactions and structured products creation (e.g. clean firm energy block products), across the spectrum of both financial and physical full load requirements and analysis thereof.
7. Ad Hoc analysis projects related to anything Peregrine may be contemplating with regards to siting, pricing, trading, M&A, etc.
8. Help support the buildout of the market analytics team, including recruiting and hiring highly qualified individuals.
9. Help build out other team capabilities in the mid-to-long term, such as production cost modeling, price, revenue, & risk assessment, steady state power flow modeling, and dispatch optimization software.
10. Supports regular Market Analytics reporting functions.

Required Skills/Experience

1. 6+ years of market fundamentals, price forecasting, market analytics, commodity structuring, and risk analysis with a focus on energy storage and renewables, structured energy products for both wholesale and industrial counterparties, and/or quantitative risk management and hedging experience in the energy industry.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience with US wholesale power market rules in at least 2 of the following ISOs: ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM.
3. Experience in Canadian markets
4. Expert proficiency in Data Science specifically Python & SQL or a similar programming and machine learning languages and processes.
5. Experience in Ascend Analytics products: PowerSIMM & BatterySIMM is a big plus!
6. Experience with YES Energy and/or ICE.
7. Understanding and experience in production cost modeling (PLEXOS, Aurora, DAYZER, etc.).
8. Understanding of nodal and load flow analysis.

Salary: Salary Range is $125k – $175k

Bonus: This position may be eligible to receive an annual cash incentive bonus capped at a % of your base salary and on your performance review, and potentially long-term incentive participation.
