We’re working with a leading distributed energy platform to recruit a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) who will lead the charge in commercial strategy, origination, and market expansion across the U.S. This is a key executive role designed for a results-driven leader passionate about shaping the future of renewable energy.
Position Overview:
The CCO will drive the company’s revenue growth, expand market presence, and ensure a seamless experience for clients from initial contact through project completion. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution in origination and commercial operations, with a focus on commercial, industrial, and community solar and battery storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Market Development and Strategy: Lead market expansion efforts, focusing on new and existing markets, and work with the executive team to shape the company’s long-term commercial strategy.
-
Origination and Client Relationships: Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including real estate partners, to identify and close new solar and battery storage projects.
-
Project Oversight and Execution: Oversee all stages of the client journey—from initial sales through documentation, construction, and delivery—ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
-
Negotiation and Deal Structuring: Negotiate deal documents (e.g., PPAs, leases) and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to support project delivery.
-
Market Intelligence and Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity, using insights to adapt strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
Candidate Profile:
-
Proven Leadership: 10+ years of commercial or business development experience in the renewable energy, real estate, or energy sector, with a strong network of industry contacts.
-
Capital Raising and Transaction Expertise: Experience with capital or fund raising and a solid track record in transaction management, ideally within distributed generation projects rather than utility-scale.

-
Exceptional Communication: Strong presentation skills, with an ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
-
Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and building high-performance teams, with an adaptable approach to working with cross-functional groups.
Compensation and Benefits:
-
Competitive Salary: Base salary with performance-based bonuses and commission opportunities.
-
Equity Options: Potential for equity or stock options based on target achievements.
-
Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and retirement benefits, with additional support for remote work.
