Job Description

Capital Markets Associate

The Capital Markets Associate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and executing third-party capital financings to support the development of an expanding solar portfolio. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong financial background. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is fully remote with occasional travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute third-party capital financing transactions, including construction debt, term debt, tax equity financing, and other specialty financial products.
  • Assess the economic feasibility of project acquisitions and M&A opportunities through financial modeling.
  • Design and implement standardized valuation and modeling procedures, coordinating with internal teams to ensure visibility and end-to-end compatibility.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and updated corporate assumptions in financial models.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors through presentations and due diligence support.
  • Support negotiations with capital investors and manage relationships with investment banks and tax equity investors.
  • Lead the due diligence process for potential investments and financing transactions.
  • Coordinate with legal and structuring teams to ensure professionalism and accuracy in data rooms and other external materials.
  • Provide financial and risk analysis to support development, construction, and asset management teams.
  • Prepare quarterly board and investor presentations.
  • Ensure correct financing assumptions are integrated into project models.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (clean tech, energy, or related sectors); solar experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years of Investment Banking experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferred disciplines: Math, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related fields).
  • Robust financial modeling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating across organizational levels and functions, as well as with external stakeholders such as banks, lawyers, customers, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics).
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
